Please read the information below, it goes over a few thing you should familiarize yourself with regarding the driveway snow blowing process.
How to prepare your driveway
Please relocate any basketball net or hockey nets away from driveways. This will insure a more thorough clearing of the driveway and less chance of damaging our equipment. Also please have over hanging trees trimmed back from the driveway, to make room for our equipment.
Vehicles parking in driveway:
When vehicles are parked in your driveway it best to park them as far forward in the driveway as possible also park them as close as you can to one side. When there are multiple vehicles, park them as close as you can together. This will allow for a more complete clearing of your driveway.
Gravel driveways:
Gravel driveway are tricky to snow blow, we typically try to wait until there is frost in the ground specially on those smaller early and late season snow falls. Doing this will help the driveway to retain the gravel and there will be less chance of damaging the driveway or our equipment.
First and second snow clearing passes
Our first and second snow clearing passes and how they typically work. Our first pass depending on the timing of the snow we make sure you can get out of your driveway that's our number one priority. Sometimes we can take care of the city trucks pushing the snow into the end of your driveway on the frist pass, again all depends on timing of the snow. Our second pass is typically a clean up pass to take care of the city trucks pushing snow into your driveway, and to clean anywhere there might have been cars park during out first pass.
Our second pass or clean up pass we give a range on the time line 2 - 4 hours that we would preform this pass. We do this incase it's still snowing or the town trucks haven't cleared the street during our first pass. So you can see there's sometimes a few variables to consider. Also if you're getting walkways and or entrances shovelled this would typically happen on the first pass, and is also depended on timing of the snow.
Driveway damage.
MSC Snow blowing is not responsible for any damage to driveways resulting from uneven pavement or the condition of the driveway surface. This includes any scuff, scratches caused by materials such as sand, salt, or gravel that may be present on the driveway. Users should be aware that these conditions can affect the performance of snow removal equipment and lead to damaging the driveway surface.
